The goal of Mbed Pathology is to collaborate with, support and serve the needs of scientists using animals in their research by providing the services of a board certified veterinary pathologist trained to identify and interpret gross and histologic lesions in laboratory species. Information gleaned from gross and histologic examination can be used in phenotyping new genetically modified mice, identifying potential animal models of human diseases or determining the cause of unexpected death in a research animal. Consultation is also available regarding veterinary pathology procedures such as necropsy, tissue collection and tissue fixation protocols.
